📝 Overview

The Slug Frequency Estimator predicts the rate of slug arrival (slug frequency) in multiphase pipelines. The tool accommodates different methods/codes and offers full unit flexibility for design and troubleshooting.

🧮 Calculations

  • Converts all input units to SI for calculations.
  • Slug frequency is calculated as: f=fracVsLsf = \\frac{V_s}{L_s}f=fracVs​Ls​ Where
    VsV_sVs​ = superficial liquid velocity
    LsL_sLs​ = slug length
  • For some codes/methods, additional safety or empirical factors may be included.
  • Flags “Acceptable” or “High Frequency – Review Operations” based on code/method thresholds.
